Introducing Ms. Hannah Todd

Shedhorn Sports has had the pleasure of knowing the Todd family of Ennis, Montana for many years. Employees have watched the kids grow up and turn into very capable and kind human beings. The kids have grown up with cattle and horses and working on the ranch throughout their childhood, things that require patience and skill. Funny enough, these skills seamlessly carry over into the Shooting Sports. The oldest and only daughter, Hannah Todd has been shooting since she was 9 years old when she joined the 4-H Madison Valley Shooting Sports. She began with archery and quickly moved into rifle and pistol so she could learn gun safety and be able to hunt with her dad. That was just the beginning of her journey. Over the years, she has developed her skills travelling the country for competitions, and she has even shot beside Olympic-level shooters.

Learning about Hannah’s incredible progress, Shedhorn reached out to her parents to find out how Shedhorn could support Hannah in her love of shooting. We believe the future of the Shooting Sports is expanding the youth involvement. Where would we be as a nation without the successful development of our youth? Starting at an early age, youth should learn about gun safety, gun function, and the positive aspects of the firearms and hunting community, and then further allow that knowledge to develop as they age.

Hannah talks about the moment in time when she knew she would be involved in the shooting sports:

“The first year I went to the State Shoot in Bozeman, I saw all of these kids in these fancy suits with fancy guns and said to my parents that I want to shoot like that! I enjoyed rifle so much that I dropped pistol and archery after the season was over. I had so much fun with rifle. After 2 or 3 years, I became one of the best shooters for our little club and in the county. The third year I shot rifle, I won high point prone for the county fair. The next year, I worked really hard and won high point overall for our county, and then won it a second year in a row. I was good, but I was getting to a point where I needed a more experienced coach if I wanted to continue shooting. We found Gallatin Valley Sharp Shooters 2 years ago and I have progressed immensely.”

Her involvement with Gallatin Valley Sharp Shooters is taking Hannah places that many small town ranch girls may never go. Shedhorn is sponsoring Hannah on her continued journey and we wish her the very best in advancing her skills. You can follow her shooting journey on Instagram @shedhornsports.

“I want to thank everyone who’s helped me get to where I am right now. And thank you to Mel at Shedhorn Sports for her generous support with a new gear bag and sight box!” - Hannah
